Cherry Jones may have played the president on the Fox series “24,” but she admits to being a “theater snob” who always thought she would do her best work on the stage. Then she saw the first season of “Transparent,” the critically lauded series on Amazon, chronicling the life of Maura Pfefferman (Jeffrey Tambor), who comes out to her adult children as a transgender woman.
“Why, oh, why can’t I be on a show like that?” Ms. Jones asked.
