The Ustinov Studio’s second season under Laurence Boswell’s artistic directorship – giving a trio of US hits their UK premieres – has got off to a flying start with a play that tackles unrequited passion, sexual obsession and the lonely desperation that flesh is heir to in a manner that is often as brutally amusing as it is arrestingly full-on.
The “red light” of Adam Rapp’s cryptic title refers to Amsterdam, where two American pals have pitched base in a rundown hostel room and are, on the winter’s evening we peer in on them, looking for “action”.
