During the nascent years of news broadcasting Murrow’s career was marked by a singular attention to truth and integrity. He went straight to the source, sometimes at his own peril.

He broadcast live from London during the Blitz, providing vivid descriptions of the air raids and the resilience of the British people.

He was embedded in General Patton’s Third Army and revealed the horrors he saw at the Buchenwald concentration camp on the day of its liberation.
His on-air take down of Senator Joseph McCarthy and the House Un-American Activities Committee attests to the power of news broadcasting to uphold the root principles upon which the United States was founded.
This riveting must-see production remains prescient in our times.

One performance only, featuring a 35 minute after-show talk back with actor Hamilton Clancy, director Mary Linehan and special guests, moderated by Hudson Valley journalist Frank Lobuono.
Mr. Lubuono hosts the “Being Frank” podcast on Hudson River Radio, and is a retired CBS News journalist with 40 years experience in the news broadcasting profession.

“A dramatic masterpiece…Bravo, Bravo, Bravo…”
– Myra Chanin, Huffington Post

“Joseph Vitale has crafted a comprehensive, affectionate and authentic portrait… “Murrow” affirms his noble legacy.”– Darryl Reilly, TheatreScene.net

“… a thoroughly engaging show… that makes
history and morality clear for the audience. Don’t miss this one.”

– Mark Savitt, High Drama

 “…a powerful, poignant production…”
– Dallas Theatre Journal

“…a thoroughly engrossing and important play… In Murrow, I am there feeling the room shake during the blitz and observing the tumult of its aftermath. I am horrified walking through Buchenwald observing the Nazi atrocities firsthand. I am in those smoke-filled rooms at CBS fearing the power of Joseph McCarthy. And most importantly, I am beside Murrow as his personal integrity never wavers facing that fear.”
 – Dallas-Fort Worth Center Stage
