Ben Brantley makes his Tony Award choices. For the Should Have Been Nominated category, the Times’s critics were allowed to expand the potential nominees to Off Broadway productions, which are ineligible for the Tonys. But they didn’t consider “Hamilton,” which is moving to Broadway.

Will win: “An American in Paris”

Should win: “Fun Home”

Should have been nominated: “Honeymoon in Vegas”

BEST PLAY

Will win: ”The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time” by Simon Stephens

Should win: ”The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time”

Should have been nominated: “Constellations” by Nick Payne
