If it helped Maggie Smith to beat her stage fright after cancer, her son Toby Stephens would team up with her, he says

Toby Stephens is hunting around a dilapidated dressing room in the Old Vic Theatre for a piece of wood to touch. He has many bargains to strike with the fates: that that he hasn’t inherited the self-destructive streak of his father, the late, luminous actor Robert Stephens; that his current career renaissance continues apace; and that the cancer endured by his mother Maggie Smith — she has not been on stage since — will remain in remission.
