Guthrie sets dates for Afghanistan play
The theater shuffles its 2010 schedule, including one cancellation and the addition of a new play.
An epic theater work about Afghanistan has caused some changes in this year's schedule at the Guthrie Theater.
"The Great Game: Afghanistan," a much-heralded work by Britain's Tricycle Theatre, will play a three-week run beginning Sept. 29 in the McGuire Proscenium Stage, the theater announced Tuesday.
A marathon series of plays on the history and culture of Afghanistan, "The Great Game" was hailed by Michael Billington in the London Guardian last year as a "mind-blowing achievement."
